Journaling is one of the most powerful mental health tools at our disposal.
🧠 My mission as a coach & therapist is to make mental health more accessible to ALL, without needing 1-1 sessions with a professional
✍️ As part of this mission, I want to promote the practice of journaling, which is one of the most powerful mental health tools at our disposal
🤩My experience with my clients, as well as multiple studies show that people who journal, especially linked to difficult topics, feel better, see significant drop in blood pressure, in doctors' visits, lower instances of depression and anxiety (Riddell et al, 2020), the list goes on! For more infos - see a nice overview from Boston Uni here
🧪 One study showed that just 15 minutes of writing about a difficult experience, repeated over 4 days, reduced participants' visits to the doctor by HALF, and kept blood pressure measurably lower for 6 weeks after! (Pennebaker, 2012)
🤷♀️ And yet, most of us don't it, often because 1. We find journaling/writing intimidating, and don't know how to start, or 2. We don't find the time/motivation.
🙌 It's time to change this - the objective of the articles I’m sharing on my website is to learn simple tips to benefit from journaling’s powerful benefits yourself! I will be adding a new theme and assorted prompts every week.
🤗You can also join a weekly journaling workshop in Geneva, free and open to all, where you can learn some simple tips, get inspired by a theme and prompts, spend time in individual writing and then ask questions/share thoughts as a group. See more information on how to join here!
